A place full of history and tradition

RESTAURANT PAUL is a menu designed specifically for discovering French cuisine, right in the centre of Paris, in the heart of the famous and unique Ile de La Cité. Well-seasoned dishes of the day, modernised typically French recipes, respect for produce and the seasons in a sustainable approach and some truly unmissable dishes... Here, the flavours are unique, with a real touch of creative freshness distilled by the chef.

The first outdoor terrace of RESTAURANT PAUL is set alongside the magnificent chestnut trees of Place Dauphine, where it's so pleasant to enjoy a good meal with friends or family (spring, summer, autumn).

Alongside the restaurant, a second outdoor terrace offers tables all year round, amidst authentic stonework and listed 17th-century facades.

Inside, in a typically Parisian atmosphere, RESTAURANT PAUL oscillates between sobriety and authenticity, with red banquettes that are a delight to sit on. The main space on the ground floor has a double aspect overlooking the Place Dauphine and the Seine. Upstairs, a second area features tables overlooking the Place Dauphine.

A veritable institution in Paris and the Place Dauphine, RESTAURANT PAUL was founded at the very beginning of the 20th century and still bears architectural traces of that era.

The RESTAURANT PAUL was then called "Au rendez-vous des Cochets", a meeting place for artists and intellectuals. It was sold several times between the 1920s and 1930s and took on the name we know today.

During the Resistance, LE RESTAURANT PAUL survived the war with a modest menu featuring half apples and spoonfuls of chestnuts, a dessert that still tickles the taste buds and is still on the winter menu.

We welcome you to a place steeped in history and tradition, where the spirit of Madame Paul has remained intact, as have those of Simone Signoret and Yves Montand, famous residents of the Place Dauphine and enlightened gourmets with almost daily habits at RESTAURANT PAUL.
